Primrose Cottage

Primrose cottage is one of four cottages in what was once known as Primrose Alley. The first three cottages have now been converted into one dwelling where we live and we are pleased to offer Primrose Cottage as holiday accommodation for individuals and families looking to stay in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in this unique corner of The Garden of England. The cottage is believed to be built in the 15th Century and has a wealth of original and interesting features such as exposed beams, inglenook fire place and a small twisting staircase (with handrail).
You will have your own front door which takes you into the living room. The living room has a comfortable sofa, armchair, drinks cabinet, selection of local interest books, board games, sewing kit and a mini bar. The television provides UK channels and is logged in to Netflix. The Inglenook fireplace has a wood burner which you are very welcome to use.
Through the living room you will find a dining room. There is a full tea set should you want afternoon tea and an elegant dining service for a more formal meal. All with beautiful ambient lighting.

From the living room is a narrow staircase to the first floor. On the landing upstairs there is access to the first bedroom, then to the bathroom, a dressing area and the master bedroom room.
The first bedroom has two single beds. This room has space for a travel cot or extra blow up child bed, and we can provide both by prior arrangement. There is also a desk / bureau for your use, a chest of drawers and a small wardrobe. The curtains are black out curtains.
The bathroom has a bath with a shower over the bath, a toilet and a sink. We will provide toilet paper.
The master bedroom has a Super King bed, a bookcase, rocking chair and ample space for child beds / cots if needed.
Parking
There is parking on the High Street with no fees or charges outside the property and parking is free anywhere in the village.
Bikes
If you have your own bikes you can secure them in the patio area. It is a fantastic area for cyclists and we frequently see a friendly peloton cruising through the village and surrounding areas. We even have a cyclist cafe called the Independent Pedaler in the village which is a great stop-off point.
Staying with children
If children are staying with you, please let us know what we can provide to make your stay easier. We have a high chair, Motorola video monitor, a white noise machine, safety plug covers, kitchen cupboard safety latches, child plate, bowl and cutlery.
If you use the high chair please make sure it is throughly cleaned before you leave.
We have 2 x Baby Bjorn travel cots you may borrow from us should you wish. Please bring your own child bedding for use with the cots, we provide a bottom sheet but we may not know what is age appropriate for babies and infants.
